Editorial methodology
How our dry-cleaner rankings work
The goal is simple: reward consistently excellent service without letting a perfect score from a handful of reviews outrank years of proven results.
The ranking formula
We use a confidence-weighted score. Each public star rating is balanced against its review volume using a 4.3-star baseline and a 25-review confidence weight. As a business earns more reviews, its own rating has more influence.
What we verify
- The business primarily provides dry cleaning.
- The physical location is inside the town being ranked.
- Rating, review count, address and contact information have an identifiable public source.
- Service and pricing claims are only shown when we find support for them.
A city or city-level service guide becomes eligible for search indexing only after at least three profiles pass the full evidence screen. A state directory becomes eligible after at least one city meets that threshold.
Maps, photos and live review data
City and business pages use Google Maps for interactive pins and Street View. Where Google Places returns a confident business match, the profile may also show current Google-hosted photos and review excerpts with their source attribution. Editorial garment-care images are labeled and are never presented as photos of a specific business.
What paid placement can—and cannot—do
A Featured placement may move a clearly labeled card higher on the page. It never changes the business’s organic rank number or weighted score. Free listing claims and corrections are reviewed using the same standards as every other listing.
Corrections
Local information changes. Business owners can claim a listing for free, and readers can report a problem through the form on the relevant business page.
