Editorial standards

Publish what the evidence can support.

Our standard is traceability: a reader should be able to distinguish sourced facts, public customer sentiment, first-party reader submissions, owner-supplied updates, and paid placement.

Sources

Facts stay attached to their provenance.

Our Review

Summaries reflect recurring themes, not invented experience.

Ratings and rankings

Volume and score are related but not interchangeable.

Star ratings and review counts come from the named source. The organic ranking uses the confidence-weighted formula documented in How we rank. A ranking is a comparison of current directory evidence, not a guarantee of future service.

Reader submissions

First-party reviews are moderated and labeled.

Reader reviews require a first-hand experience confirmation and a private email address. Approved submissions are displayed separately from third-party rating totals. Business responses require a verified claim.

Owner claims

Verification provides correction tools, not editorial control.

Claiming is free. Verified owners may request factual updates and submit photos they have the right to publish. Claims do not change the ranking formula, suppress a documented review theme, or imply FindMyDryCleaners endorsement.

Advertising

Commercial placement is visually separated.

Any paid placement is labeled Featured or Paid promotion. Payment does not purchase a better organic rank, a favorable Our Review, or the removal of supported criticism.

Corrections

Specific evidence receives a specific review.

Readers and businesses can report closed locations, duplicate records, incorrect hours, map problems, service errors, and other factual issues. We preserve the distinction between correcting a fact and changing an opinion. See the corrections process.
